After gracing us with her amazing constellation-chic outfits during the Grammy's this year, word on the street is that Lady GaGa will be pairing up with Armani. For what you ask? I am not exactly sure but i do know that when something comes and oh I bet it will; I will be in line ot get my Lady GaGa for Armani pieces.. p.s. i am so sad about the fact that Apolo OhNo got disqualified from speed skating lol!! But yeah.. GaGa plus Armani!! WooHoOo..
I have always been an avid fan of Louise Goldin and her futuristic designs. She has such an interesting take on detail, from panels, layers and structure. Her super modern & futuristic-gladiatoriISH take on fashion always puts her on my I Love, I Love, I Love list!!
We've all had one.. Mister or Misses.. According to my assumptions the salsa dance is a beautiful culminating rhythm of synchronized movement and continuous steps.. Beauty, synchronization and repetition the things that make and break a relationship.. You fall in love, you work with eachother and you continue to do so.. What about when you fall in love, you get your heart broken you try to see eye to eye but the same issues arise, come along and slowly being to be a mess.
Alexander McQueen label will survive, say French owners
David Brown
Alexander McQueen’s fashion label will live on despite the designer’s apparent suicide last week, it was announced yesterday.
The decision to maintain the legacy of one of the most high-profile British designers will come as a huge boost to London Fashion Week which starts tomorrow.
PPR, the French luxury group with a controlling stake in the designer’s companies, said that it planned to build on the McQueen brand. François-Henri Pinault, its president, said: “The Alexander McQueen trademark will live on. This would be the best tribute that we could offer to him.”
Mr Pinault said that the decision to maintain the label was taken quickly after McQueen’s death and voiced confidence that the fashion house continues to hold “very important potential”. read the rest here..
Earlier this week while at work a customer asked to see a powder blue quilted fabric Chanel flap bag so as a good employee I acquired the bag from it's throne amongst the many at Fashionably Yours and layed the amazingly beautiful and ever so classic piece in her hands as if it were the toast at a church CAN I GET AN AMEN!!??.. She proceeded to oooohhhh... and ahhhh at the piece while examining its every external square centimeter. She then opened the bag and noticed that there was a leather panel with a traditional CoCO Chanel imprint and exclaimed with a "Oh No No No..".. I like anyone fraked and assumed that there was a stain somewhere but didn't see anything so I asked what was wrong. She then said "There's leather and im a vegetarian"... _Leathers, furs and many of the other living creatures we use for wear are some of the heaviest played factors in today's, yesterday's and the day's before that's fashion world. I understand that in some cases cruelty to the animals used has been applied in the practices but because of this I find my self puzzled at how people whom are vegetarians see so much into their dietary restrictions that even what is worn is off-limits to their shopping carts! What do you think!?
David Elfin always put's a fashion friendly smile on my face when I see his collections. His last collection during Spring was the reason I grew so fond of his designs. I felt that this collection was very easy. Easy in the sense that way things are meant to be worn and the outfits portrayed are easier to apply then they look giving a customer/consumer a sense of relief when trying to accomplish a high scale look. Another thing I enjoyed were the transitions. When transitioning between colors, pattern's and designs so blatantly it gets a little bit confusing. When doing it multiple times one could just get dizzy. Here David Elfin mastered the ease of transition on the runway and maybe means that going from a solid grey suit to a black/white/gray patterned one isn't that hard!
I loved the layering of this collection! The short's & leggings for men is genius! For so long we were doing a pant with a short layer over them for the look but this is just so refreshing and definitely has to be my favorite mens look of the collection (i want that bag too!!!).. The seemingly triple layering of the skirt is great and the detailing on the pencil skirt by those pockets (or it could be a whole other vest under that amazing sweater) is very manipulatingish/deceivingish, eye catching and leaves us wondering lol!
I love how the most simplest details on pieces add such a different vibe to the outfit. From the minimal mustard detail on the men's pant transforming the simple gray suit into a more approachable, modern or quircky look to the black panels and arms of the women's blazer that just adds a whole level of ferociousness (Kate Lanphear should be first in line to receive one!)
i thought this was simply brilliant... The lovely Miss Lady Fag her self put together an amazing do & down a night or so ago during fashion week to pay homage to the late & oh so great Alexander McQueen.. This was amazing to see and made me almost want to cry!! The biatch is even rocking the armidillio's !!! love love love
i just want to take into consideration how versatile Joseph Altuzarra has prooved himself to be over the past couple of seasons. From a Spring/Summer collection which captivated its audience with a soft, edgy and very layed back look- accompanied by soft browns and olives paired with white and cremes, to a black patent & PETA aware runway show. Joseph Altuzarra's now third runway show is definitely helping him make a mark in the fashion industry. I loved how sleek these looks seemingly worked their way down the runway. I love the choice of layering from the body tight leather pant, jackets & bodysuits to the over-bearing yet oh so satisfying fur additions to certain pieces. I loved every thing that was made this collection..
When it comes to more every day pieces like suits the tailoring and structure work in the Altuzarra collection is amazing. Although certain aspects of the collection do seem a little Balmain & Wang (but i am not one to complain because i love anything Balmain & Wang inspired or similiar) I did like the use of the buckles and cut out details. Necklines were also great to!
My favorite twist on this collection is when it went from above to below.. From deliciously dark, distressed and leathery with all this function to suede!!! Suede capes, dresses and suits! Now me as probably many others can say, I HATE SUEDE.. I think it is grose but to justify my reasoning is to say that I have never got to experience it used properly.. untill now! I am in love with how Joseph manipulated the dainty and from my eyes disgusting fabric and turned it's shimmer into amazingness!!.. He kept the structure present even in the most cynical of ways and for that we love love love altuzarra!
This photo was twitpic'd by Flare Magazine at the Alexander McQueen store in the Meat Packing District.. A sad, sad sight.. Is it closed down? Or what is going on..
So I received an e-mail earlier this week from a friend who works at Holt Renfrew and they told me that the Alexander McQueen scarves are selling out like hot cakes!! CHeesy line I know but I feel lost because of the fact that I dont own a scarf from the late great. I advise you to get them while their hot!!!
On Valentines day a real man should give us his significant other VALENTINO... RIGHT!?!?.. Valentino's bloody piercing red only symbolizes so much in one simple tone.. passion, love, lust, sexuality... Therefore Valentino is the official and most ultimate Valentine's day gift, especially now after Valentino himself has stepped down the rarity of his original designs in accordance to his name is going to sky-rocket beyond measurable proportions.. Like now-to-date Alexander McQueen's recent death.. his scarves and other pieces at stores like Holt Renfrew have been nearly sold out!
